TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Kearney Center has been a helping hand for the Tallahassee homeless population since 2015 and now they're partnering with Tallahassee Memorial to give those they help a second chance.

The hospital announced Tuesday that they're opening a brand new transition center for the people at the center.

The focus of the center is to help the homeless population to have more healthcare professionals readily available and to cut down emergency room visits.

"If you are in dire need of help, come see TMH clinical," said Paulinea Hazen, a patient. "They listen, they care, and they'll get you the help that you are looking for. It may not be something they can provide today, but they can get it and bring it back tomorrow."

The service is now open and accepting patients at the Kearney Center.
