JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Authorities seized more than $26,000 in cash, various illegal drugs packaged for sale and two guns while searching for a fugitive in Jackson County.
Members of the Jackson County Drug Task Force were assisted by the United States Marshal’s Service Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force Wednesday in a fugitive investigation.
According to JCSO, during the course of the investigation, investigators spoke to 24-year-old Jarrien A’vion Dudley at a home in the Cypress community.
Authorities say Dudley is a known associate of the fugitive Ja'Darian Gilbert, who is still not in custody.
After speaking with Dudley, he let authorities go into his home to search for Gilbert.
During an initial search of Dudley's home, multiple items used for the sale of illegal drugs were found in plain view to include MDMA (Ecstacy) and marijuana, the JCSO said.
Because Dudley was on felony probation, he was arrested. Then, investigators said they obtained a search warrant to further search Dudley's home for more drugs.
The search warrant revealed various amounts of marijuana, MDMA, cocaine, and prescription medications, as well as two guns and $26,258 in cash authorities believe to be the proceeds from drug sales.
Based on the evidence, authorities found probable cause to arrest and charge Dudley with multiple counts for the sale of illegal drugs and possession of firearms/ammo.
