TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) — "It's back to a little bit of normalcy and it makes people think things are going to get better soon."

Island wing company owner, Sam Osborne, decided to do something a little different for staff and customers Saturday night.

"We actually had a lot of requests to do a movie night, like a drive in movie," explained Osborne. This movie night came at the right time. Island Wing Company customers said social interaction is still very much needed.

Emily Fisher said, "People can still, even with social distancing, see each other, be around other people, which is really really important."

Elizabeth Wilde works at a dental office, but has been out of work since the pandemic closed her office.

"We left patients that were in mid-treatment and I felt bad about leaving our patients because many of them are very close," explained Wilde. "We're like a family in some ways."

This past week brought good news for Wilde. She is back and work but decided to enjoy a night out with family at Island Wing Company.

Field Wilde said, while pointing at his grandson, "We've been hibernating for what two months, six weeks, and it's a great opportunity to get him out of the house."

And when asked if movie night could continue for weeks to come, Osborne is optimistic.

"I think if the customers like it, and it works well for, and it's fun and people enjoy it. Yeah absolutely. We're trying to make it a family event."

Saturday's movie was The Sandlot and it was chosen through a Facebook poll.
