ALFORD, Fla. (WTXL) — Just as Hurricane Michael left a mark on the people of Alford, so did Sunday's severe weather.

The community was in the process of re-building but now, after a tornado, they have to start over.

There's plenty of damage and destruction in the area but a steadfast community is still focused on rebuilding after yet another disaster.

Alford not only was hit hard by Hurricane Michael in October, but also an EF-1 tornado Sunday night. However, in the midst of the chaos in the last five months, this town shows how truly resilient the people who live here can be.

Wednesday, WTXL saw people fixing roofs, cleaning up debris, with their sights set on the future.

"It's very resilient and people are going to come back," said Phillip Berry, who lives in Alford. "The town is going to put itself back together and it won't be another year and this place will be running like it used too. Everybody's busy that wants to work around this place."

Berry says not only did a tree fall on his home during Hurricane Michael, but another tree also fell on his home during Sunday's storms.
