TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Some horses are finally back home thanks to the Leon County Sheriff's Office.

The horses were rescued after a tornado earlier this month tore through the Baum Community.

LCSO says the horses weren't yet familiar with their new home when the tornado came through, leading them to become displaced.

"From what we understand there may be as many as 10 other horses that we may be looking for trying to help this rescue and some other rescuers that were displaced after the tornado off of Baum road. Contact me at the sheriff's office if you are able to help in any way shape or form," said Community Relations Deputy Mike Wallace.

Deputy Wallace says some horses need to be adopted and others need help with food, hay, and vet bills.
