TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Homeowners in Tallahassee's Killearn area hosted a town hall meeting on Tuesday night.

They're trying to key-in on how a new traffic project will impact where they live.

The Blueprint's Northeast Gateway project, plans to build a four lane roadway over I-10 to the center of Killearn with the help of the city and county.

Neighbors worry the new project will only add to an already congested area and add more complications for bicyclist and joggers who live there.

"We have almost thirty-eight hundred hundred residents, twelve or thirteen thousand people, and they are very concerned about using residential thirty mile an hour roads as a gateway for the growth of the city and county," said Gloria Arias.

The Killearn Homeowners Association says the agency should abandon the plan altogether and instead, extend the project to Robert's Road passing the area.
