TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — High winds could leave people using public transportation stranded.

The City of Tallahassee says if winds get too high, StarMetro may halt their routes.

The City is watching for sustained winds of 35 miles an hour. If that happens. they will suspend all StarMetro operation immediately, meaning buses still en route will be curbed and have to pull over until winds calm down.

In total, StarMetro has 23 bus routes. Eight routes servicing FSU are not operating since the school is closed.

That leaves 15 routes still operating.

The City will monitor power outages and downed trees as a result of the winds. They say they are ready to respond if anything should happen.
