HAVANA, Fla. — If you want to garden, but don't have the space in your own backyard, check out Havana's community garden.

The garden has been around since 2009 and members grow things like fava beans, potatoes, snow peas, English peas, and more.

For just $30, you get a 15x15 plot for a whole year. That includes water, tools, mowing, and compost.

Anyone can come and garden, but they only have eight plots left.

Linda McCarthy, a garden administrator, says gardening has many benefits.

"It's very important, it's healthy to be outside, to be active, to be in social networks with other friends and neighbors to grow good healthy food," said McCarthy. "It's everything you want to be as a healthy person."

To sign up, you can call 850-570-9024 or go to the Community Gardens of Havana Facebook page.
