HAVANA, Fla. (WTXL) — The DEA asks you to drop off unused or expired prescription drugs at a collection site this weekend for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
Members of the Havana Police Department will be hosting a collection site at their headquarters.
Tracy Smith, the Havana Chief of Police, says getting rid of unused prescriptions keeps drugs from getting into the wrong hands.
"For the sake of kids and children around the house, these unwanted drugs can be a hazard to people, and it's just a smart idea to get them out of the house and get rid of them," said Smith.
The drive will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Other sites in Tallahassee will also hold a prescription drug collection drive Saturday.
