TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A groundbreaking ceremony took place Friday on Bannerman Crossing, a new residential community on Tallahassee's northside.
Summit Group Development hosted the event for the much anticipated Bannerman Commons residential community. It's part of the next wave of construction for the area.
The 57-acre residential arm will target empty nesters and professionals.
"Well we've been working on this since 2008, it's when I first started and it was an overall concept to do a commercial project with a residential attached to so it's walkable with golf carts," said Claude Walker, CEO of Summit Group Development. "So people could walk to our commercial center and enjoy our restaurants and shops."
Bannerman Commons will go up off the northwest side of the Bannerman Crossings shopping center. Construction should begin at the start of 2020.
