TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — People who are out of a job will soon have a new way to connect to potential job openings in Tallahassee and the surrounding region.
"With unemployment rates rapidly rising due to the COVID-19 crisis, the gap between employers and those looking for jobs is getting bigger," officials wrote in a press release.
In an effort to help close the gap created by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce has launched a new “Jobs Now” initiative to connect the businesses with individuals looking to gain employment.
The Jobs Now initiative will focus on three priority areas:
- Being a hub to promote open positions at companies who are hiring across our region
- Providing resources and training for businesses and individuals
- Highlighting local companies providing innovative ways to retain and create jobs
They say this will be an ongoing effort as our economy begins to recover in the coming months.
Companies that are hiring, have resources available for personal or professional skills development or have an innovative story to share are encouraged to submit this information to Dana Noles at dnoles@talchamber.com.
