TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — On Friday, we talked to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation about their event just over a month away.

The annual walk is to raise awareness about the disease and the foundation.

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic-disorder that causes infections. Those infections affect the lungs.

People with Cystic Fibrosis have a hard time breathing and a hard time properly digesting food.

They're smaller in size and short for their age and they can't be in the same room together, because they can give each other infections.

"This year we have, like, a superhero theme, and, so I know, at our walk we're going to have Spider-Man, I believe, and a fire truck that will do a demonstration," said Kaylyn Thigpen, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Volunteer. "There will be music. It's a family friendly event. There will be food, water, and then the walk, of course."

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation provides services like Compass, which helps patients get social workers to help navigate insurance. Patients live longer when they get help dealing with Cystic Fibrosis.

This year's walk will be on April 27. 90 cents of every dollar raised at the walk will be donated.

This year's theme is superheros.
