GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) — Grady County Schools superintendent Kermit Gilliard recommended and the Board of Education approved a later start date for students and teachers.

Recent parent surveys suggested that half of Grady County Schools' parents are ready for their children to return to school face-to-face and the other half would like some type of blended/virtual learning model.

In order to offer a blended/virtual model, the district needs more time to train the teachers.

Students will report to school or online Tuesday, September 8, and teachers will report Friday, July 31 for training, and then report back on August 17 for Professional Learning and to get their classrooms ready for students to return.
