MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Governor DeSantis has appointed Shirley D. Joseph as the Madison County Superintendent of Schools.
Joseph has been serving as the interim superintendent for Madison County Schools along with holding various roles in K-12 public education.
According to the governor's release, Joseph is appointed to the position that was vacated by Dr. Karen Pickles.
Officials say Joseph is the vice chair for the Madison County Health and Hospital Board where she has served since 2004.
Joseph earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida Atlantic University and a master’s degree from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University.
