(WTXL) — Gov. Ron DeSantis is ordering an investigation into Florida's problem-ridden unemployment system.
DeSantis made the announcement during a press conference.
Monday, the governor formally asked the Florida's chief inspector general to investigate the CONNECT unemployment system and probe why Florida spent more than $77 million on the problems with the website.
The announcement comes after Floridians complained about the CONNECT system hampering their ability to reap benefits amid mass unemployment caused by closures in response to COVID-19.
