(WTXL) — Governor Ron DeSantis is recommending that all Florida universities go to remote, online learning for the rest of the semester.

DeSantis made the recommendation after he announced that four students at University of Florida tested positive for the coronavirus.

Florida State University said that they are "aware" of Gov. DeSantis' recommendation and will release more information later in the week.

Florida A&M University has not released a new statement following DeSantis' recommendation, but have said that they are "closely monitoring" the COVID-19 outbreak.

DeSantis said "reducing density" is the best thing the state of Florida can do to prevent community spread of COVID-19 and also suspended all bars and nightclubs from operating in Florida for the next 30 days.
