TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Capitol got some very special visitors Thursday.

It's Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.

Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis welcomed more than 500 children, parents, and mentors to the Capitol.

Madison and Mason DeSantis were also at the Capitol with their parents.

Children got to see more than a dozen exhibits from several organizations.

They also participated in hands-on activities and got to learn about careers in the Sunshine State.

"It's a great opportunity for parents to bring their child to work with them, to get them to see whats going to work everyday is like and hopefully open their minds for new professions," said local parent Michelle Dennard.

First Alert Chief Meteorologist Casanova Nurse also put together one of the exhibits.

He's pretty popular at these events, giving youngsters a chance to try their hand at being part of your "First Alert" weather team.
