TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Governor Ron DeSantis has extended the moratorium on evictions and foreclosures until Aug. 1 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The decision came in the form of an executive order after 8 p.m. and without comment, with DeSantis signing Executive Order 20-159 into effect.
The current moratorium was scheduled to expire after midnight, June 30.
It applies only to residential property, not commercial buildings.
DeSantis started the moratorium on April 2.
