TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Governor Ron DeSantis has extended the moratorium on evictions and foreclosures until October 1 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The decision came in the form of an executive order just before 9 p.m. on Monday and without comment, with DeSantis signing Executive Order 20-180 into effect.
The current moratorium was scheduled to expire after midnight, Sept. 1, Monday.
It applies only to residential property, not commercial buildings.
DeSantis started the moratorium on April 2.
