LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested a local man on a slew of charges, including aggravated child molestation and statutory rape, after an investigation revealed he sexually exploited two Lowndes County children.

On February 15, 2019, the GBI was requested by the Lake Park Police Department to conduct an investigation of an individual who contacted a Lowndes County juvenile through social media in an attempt to try and get the juvenile to meet him for sexually related contact. In the posts, the suspect provided nude photographs and videos of himself to the victim.

As the investigation progressed, a suspect was identified as 21-year-old Miguel “Mikey” Angel Lopez – Blasica, who lives on Fred Webb Road in Moultrie.

While reviewing records requested from social media providers, investigators identified a second juvenile victim from Lowndes County. They say Lopez also contacted the second victim through social media and again sent nude photographs and videos of himself. Lopez was able to meet with this victim in Lowndes County on several occasions.

After the second victim was identified, a meeting was arranged with Lopez at the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office where he was interviewed and later served with six arrest warrants out of Lowndes County.

He has been charged with solicitation of sodomy, aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, obscene internet contact with a child, statutory rape and criminal attempt to entice a child for indecent purposes.

Agents are continuing to interview witnesses and collect evidence related to this incident. They say the case is active and ongoing.
