TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Florida State University School Athletics has suspended all athletic related activities including all competition, formal and organized practice, and contract facilities usage until April 4th.
The decision was made following consultation with Florida State University, FSUS administration and following CDC recommendations to mitigate the further spread of COVID-19.
“The decision to suspend athletic events has been made to maintain the safety of our student-athletes and school," said FSUS Athletic Director Tyrone McGriff. "This decision is aimed to protect from the further spread of COVID-19 and allow the situation to unfold and err on the side of caution.”
Florida High will continue to follow FSU, CDC, state and county health department guidelines, which means suspending events with large gatherings and restricting travel.
