TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida State's Marching Chiefs now have a work of art to honor their legacy as the university's marching band.
A three dimensional stained-glass window was unveiled on the wall of FSU's Heritage Museum. University staff and former Marching Chiefs attended the unveiling to witness this moment in university history.
FSU Alumna and former band member Florence Ashby funded the $25,000 project and is quite thrilled.
"It is exactly what I had in mind at the beginning. The master craftsmen studio was absolutely fantastic and its one of the few windows that has a three-dimensional aspect," said Ashby.
This is the 40th stained glass window in the museum. Ashby made sure details of the glass would reflect all eras of the FSU Marching Chiefs.
