TALLAHASSEEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Florida State University Schools capitalized on a Golden Opportunity for their track and field team Tuesday morning.
The team was among four programs recognized by North Florida and South Georgia area McDonald's operators for their dedication to enriching area youth.
Head coach April McGruff says the 25-hundred dollar grant comes right on time as they get back on their feet after fundraising losses from COVID19.
"This grant will provide us with opportunities to receive extra equipment to expose our student-athletes to meets that are in town, that are in the state, as well as provide other opportunities to help with team management, as well as just the season management and all," said McGruff.
This was McDonald's first year offering the grant, and FSU Schools made the cut above about 95 other applicants.
