FSU PD officer involved in 'incident' with armed person at Prime Time Lounge

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Police are investigating an incident between a FSU police officer and an armed civilian outside of Prime Time Lounge Tuesday night.

The Florida State Police Department said that the incident happened in the parking lot of the restaurant Tuesday night.

They say a nearby FSU PD officer was flagged down and informed about an armed person in the crowded parking lot. When the officer responded, he spotted a person with a gun and ordered the person to get on the ground.

FSU PD says the Tallahassee Police Department arrived shortly after the incident between the officer and civilian.

According to FSU PD, TPD officers ended up placing the civilian in handcuffs, although FSU PD could not comment on whether that civilian was charged with a crime.

Now, TPD is handling a criminal investigation into the incident. We've reached out to them for more infomation and are waiting to hear back.

FSU PD says they are reviewing the actions taken by the officer and are collecting more information. The officer involved in the altercation has not been identified.
