TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Florida State University Police Department is searching for an armed suspect who tried to rob an FSU student in broad daylight in the parking lot of the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center on Monday.
Police say the incident happened on Monday around 1:35 p.m.
They say an unknown man approached an FSU student who had just gotten out of their car in the main parking lot of the Civic Center.
The suspect asked the victim to hold a grocery bag he was carrying and, when the victim refused, pulled a gun from behind the bag and pointed it at the victim.
That's when police say the victim immediately left the area and called 911 while the suspect ran south toward the intersection of South Macomb and St. Augustine streets. The victim was not harmed during the incident.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, around 5’5” tall, wearing a white ball cap, tattoos around his left eye, baggy clothing, clean shaven, possibly an eyebrow piercing, and carrying a beige color Publix or Walmart bag.
