Early Sunday morning runners ran a 5k through Florida State University to raise money for the school medical response unit.

More than 100 people were at the event that helps pay for supplies.

Out on the run, people were able to view and learn about law enforcement and medical agencies such as the Leon county bomb squad and FSU sports medicine.

"The supplies for medical supplies are so expensive and we provide free care to the students on campus. Our motto is students serving students, so in order to have all those supplies, that money we can provide care for events such as other 5k that student organizations put on," said Tien Cao, FSU special event supervisor.

The response unit expects to raise 5,000 from Sunday's run.
