TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Giving blood gives someone another chance at life.
FSU Seminoles got a chance to make a difference when the Big Red Bus visited Florida State University on Wednesday.
OneBlood held a blood drive near Strozier Library where students and faculty got the chance to donate blood from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
FSU Senior, Shaylah Paxton donated today because of her grandfather.
"So, my grandfather actually donates blood every chance he gets," said Paxton. "He's donated, I think 12 gallons in total now. So, I know I have B positive blood, which a lot of people need. So, I figured I could help out like my grandfather does."
Those who donated received a $10 Gift Card, socks, and a free wellness check-up.
The next Big Bus blood drive is on October 16.
