TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — There were mixed emotions from fans in CollegeTown about the firing of Willie Taggart.
One thing we heard from fans however, is that they didn't expect this to happen on Sunday.
Students and alumni are trying to adjust to the news. While we spoke to a lot of fans that are happy about Taggart being gone, there are others who say he didn't deserve this.
"When I first heard about it, I was very shocked. However very happy. We need someone else," said one fan. "Florida State has high expectations for this program. I've been a fan since 1994, hearing he got fired, we all saw it coming."
"Personally, I think he inherited a really bad situation from Jimbo. Everything was in shambles," said another FSU fan Thomas Tucker. "It's unfortunate that we haven't done well, but it's not as much as his fault that everyone is making it out to be."
No matter their thoughts about Taggart, all the fans we spoke to say they are ready to move forward and they're still hoping to end this football season on a high note.
