(WTXL) — Attorney John Morgan and former Tallahassee mayor Andrew Gillum got into a Twitter tussle over the weekend.

On Sunday, John Morgan spoke out against Andrew Gillum and suggested legal action against the former Democratic gubernatorial candidate.

Morgan has been critical about how Gillum spent his campaign money in his unsuccessful run against Gov. Ron. DeSantis, most recently citing media reports that $500,000 had been moved from Gillum's political committee Forward Florida to his nonprofit Forward Florida Action.

The Tampa Bay Times first reported that what is done with the money moved to the nonprofit, which is aimed at registering 1 million Democratic voters by the 2020 election, will largely be hidden from the public view because the nonprofit does not have to disclose how it spends the money.

Gillum fired shots right back at Morgan, however, saying in part, "You only care about transactions and distractions. I don't live on your plantation and I don’t take advice from Trump impersonators & DeSantis suck ups."

Morgan replied in kind, saying that Gillum was "race baiting" because he has something to hide.

Morgan didn't let up on Twitter, saying "Hey @AndrewGillum, do you remember when you called me asking for ANOTHER $250K so you could buy ads in the last week so you could win? And then kept it? And now you are hiding it so we can’t see it. The people of Florida are smarter than this!!"
