To empower one another, that's what many girls in the community learned Sunday at a variety of workshops.
The 'For Our Girls' Youth Workshop at Florida State University encouraged all educational pursuits positive thinking and increased self-esteem among women and girls.
The main goal of the seminar was to show young women that there is no ceiling for them to reach their full potential.
"These kids coming up, they are the future lawyers, they are the future judges, they are the future congresswomen and we want them to know they can start now. They don't have to wait until college, you don't have to wait until you are 40 years old you can start now, " said Fredline Pierre, a Program Coordinator for Big Sister Little Sister FAMU Chapter.
Pierre says more than 80 girls, from middle school to high school, attended the workshop.
