TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — When you think about all the people who hold important titles in black history, make sure you keep these two women in mind.

Danielle Andrews and Tamara Tedder this month became the first African American women to own a title company in the state of Florida.

Their company, Capital Hills Title Services aims to help home buyers, sellers, agents and brokers close on homes with equal parts ease and empathy. Tedder and Andrews say they look forward to leading others to open similar businesses.

"Having a space in this industry for a black-owned female-owned title company is fantastic," says co-owner Danielle Andrews. "I think things like this help have a trickle-down effect."

Her partner, Tamara Tedder, adds, "It was important for us, as we were going through this, to lay the groundwork so it can be a little bit easier for people who look like us to come after us to get this process done."

Mayor Dailey and Commissioner Curtis Richard will join them for an official ribbon-cutting this Saturday.
