TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Following the passing of Rush Limbaugh Wednesday morning, Representative Anthony Sabatini asked Gov. Ron DeSantis to lower flags statewide to half-staff to honor the conservative radio host.

In a tweet posted Wednesday afternoon Rep. Sabatini (R-Clermont) announced he had sent a letter to Gov. DeSantis asking for flags to be lowered.

"Today I sent a letter to Governor DeSantis requesting the lowering of Florida’s flags to half-staff in honor of the passing of a great Floridian—Rush Limbaugh," wrote Rep. Sabatini.

Limbaugh, who was a Palm Beach resident, passed away Wednesday from complications with lung cancer.

Gov. DeSantis has not publicly acknowledged the letter yet.
