CLEARED: Troopers: Fatal crash shuts down Moccasin Gap Road in Leon County

LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Troopers say a fatal crash has shut down Moccasin Gap Road and Magnolia Hill Drive in Leon County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on Tuesday at 2:15 a.m., on Moccasin Gap Road and Magnolia Hill Drive.

FHP says a vehicle was headed east on Moccasin Gap Road when for unknown reasons, the driver traveled across lanes and left the roadway.

After leaving the road, the vehicle crashed into a tree and the driver was ejected.

The driver was identified as 28-year-old Christopher James Lennie of Tallahassee.

Troopers say Lennie was pronounced deceased on scene.

At this time, FHP is reporting that Moccasin Gap Road is completely shut down.

FHP is being assisted on scene by The Leon County Sheriff's Office and Tallahassee Fire Department.

Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling in the area.
