LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Troopers say the man who was ran over by a hit-and-run driver on North Monroe last Monday has died.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened on North Monroe Street near the intersection of Northmont Drive at 9:50 p.m. on Jan. 6.
FHP says 26-year-old Jeremiah Bruce was walking in the southbound lanes of North Monroe Street when a vehicle, also in the southbound lanes, hit Bruce and drove off.
Bruce was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare with critical injuries after being found in the grass median of North Monroe Street.
He later died from his injuries.
FHP was assisted on scene by the Leon County Sheriff's Office, Leon County EMS and the Tallahassee Police Department.
Troopers don't know what type of vehicle was involved in the hit-and-run, but say it is possibly a silver color.
