TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Troopers say two people are dead after two tragic Memorial Day morning crashes in Taylor County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the first accident happened Monday around 2:18 a.m. on County Road 361 in Taylor County

FHP says while traveling north on CR-361 in Taylor County, the driver of a Sedan failed to slow sufficiently for a sharp right curve at Adam’s Beach Road.

The vehicle crossed the southbound lane and traveled onto the west grass shoulder and struck a series of trees before coming to final stop in the west wood line.

As a result of the crash, one passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

That individual was identified as a 28-year-old woman.

Troopers say another occupant was air lifted to Tallahassee Regional Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries, and the other person was transported by ground to Doctor’s Memorial Hospital.

According to FHP, the second crash happened hours later around 7:42 a.m on Monday.

Troopers say a Pickup truck was traveling south on US Highway 19, south of Bill Powell Road.

The driver traveled onto the east shoulder before returning back onto the roadway.

He then drove into the center median where the truck began to overturn.

As a result of the crash, the truck overturned onto the north traffic lanes and the driver was ejected.

The driver was transported Taylor County EMS to Doctors Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

At this time, the driver has been identified as a 19-year-old man.
