TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla.(WTXL) — Troopers say a 21-year-old woman is dead after being ejected from a pickup truck during a crash in Taylor County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4:20 p.m. on Cow Creek Road in Taylor County on Thursday.

FHP says a pickup truck was traveling northbound on Cow Creek Road. While traveling northbound, the truck hit a pothole in the middle of the roadway.

After striking the pothole, the truck began to rotate counter-clockwise.

Troopers say the driver then traveled off the roadway to the left and onto the west shoulder.

After traveling off the west shoulder, the front driver side portion of the vehicle collided with a tree and the dirt embankment.

Then after colliding with the tree and embankment, the pickup overturned.

While overturning, the driver was ejected from the vehicle and it came to final rest on its roof.

As a result of the crash, FHP says the driver was pronounced deceased.

At this time, she has been identified as a 21-year-old from Branford.

A 25-year-old woman and a 4-year-old child that were passengers also suffered minor injuries during the crash.

Authorities say the two adults were not wearing seatbelts.
