SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Troopers are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle while walking Tuesday evening in Suwannee County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. on US-27.
FHP says a pickup truck was heading southbound on US-27 when the pedestrian walked directly in front of the pickup truck from the center of the roadway.
While traveling, the driver hit the pedestrian with the front portion of his vehicle.
Sadly, the pedestrians was pronounced deceased on the scene. That victim has been identified as a 67-year-old woman.
Authorities say the driver sustained no injuries during the crash.
