LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Troopers say one person is dead after a crash that occurred on Fairbanks Road and High Hill Circle.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 9:20 p.m. Monday on Fairbanks Road and High Hill Circle in Leon County.

They say Cheryl Barber, 57, of Havana died from injuries sustained in the accident.

Troopers say while Barber was driving, she lost control of her car for unknown reasons.

This then caused the vehicle to drive off the roadway and run into a drainage ditch and two trees, before finally overturning.

Troopers say the vehicle came to a final rest on its hood and Barber passed away on scene.

Authorities say Barber wasn't wearing a seat belt during the crash and it's pending on whether alcohol played a role in the incident.
