LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Troopers report one person is dead after a crash in Leon County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 11:25 p.m. Tuesday on I-10 WB at mile marker 199 in Leon County.
They say Donna Owens, 48, of Milton died on scene from injuries sustained in the accident.
Troopers say Owens was driving westbound on I-10 behind Floyd Key,48, of Jacksonville. For unknown reasons, Owens suddenly crashed into the back of Key's semi-trailer truck.
Owens was not wearing a seat belt during the accident and FHP is investigating if alcohol played a role in the crash, according to documents.
FHP was assisted on scene by Leon County EMS, Leon County Sheriff's Office, Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County Fire and Rescue.
