FHP: 2 women in serious condition after wrong-way crash in Jackson County

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Florida Highway Patrol says a 41-year-old female from Panama City Beach and a 19-year-old female from Marianna have been seriously injured after a wrong-way accident on US Highway 231 in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

According to FHP, the 41-year-old woman was driving a pick-up truck, traveling northbound in the southbound inside travel lane of US 231 and the 19-year-old woman in a sedan was traveling southbound on US 231 in the inside travel lane.

The front left of the truck struck the front left of the sedan, the FHP report says.

After the collision, the truck rotated counter-clockwise as it traveled into the median of US 231 and then rolled over onto its right side.

The sedan also rotated counterclockwise and traveled onto the west shoulder of US 231.

FHP did not report any injuries to the 19-year-old female driver of the sedan.
