LIBERTY COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — An 80-year-old man has been hospitalized in serious condition after a three-car crash in Bristol.
The crash happened around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of State Road 20 and Virginia G. Weaver Street.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an 80-year-old Bristol man was stopped at a stop sign on Virginia G. Weaver Street as another vehicle was going east in the inside lane of State Road 20 toward the intersection.
Trooper also said a third vehicle was stopped at a stop sign on the other side of Virginia G. Weaver Street.
When the first vehicle failed to stop as the second vehicle passed by, troopers said the two cars crashed. That caused both to spin through the intersection, the first vehicle then crashing into the third.
The 80-year-old driver was taken to a hospital in serious condition. No one else was injured in the crash.
