LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — A man is behind bars in Leon County after a "Deputies Without Borders" operation led authorities to discover stolen generators in his car and multiple stolen items at his house.

Thursday night, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Tallahassee Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol, and Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office conducted a joint “Deputies Without Borders” operation.

In the operation, law enforcement officers continued with the All-In Leon initiative’s enforcement effort to curb illegal gun and drug possession in the Tallahassee area by conducting proactive enforcement in areas most affected by violence.

During the operation, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Floyd Pettis. Inside his car, they found three generators reported stolen to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.

LCSO detectives were then called out to follow up and later located prescription pills in Pettis vehicle that he didn't have a prescription for.

Through the follow up investigation, detectives located multiple stolen items at Pettis’ home. They also located a gun and marijuana.

Based on the evidence, Pettis was transported to the Leon County Detention Facility. As detectives continue to investigate, more charges are expected.
