The Florida Department of Health in Gadsden County will be hosting a COVID-19 drive-thru community testing event this Saturday, August 15.

The vent will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the City of Midway.

The testing location is The Excellence Church at 6 MLK Blvd.

This testing event is open to the public and residents are asked to schedule an appointment by calling 850-329-0685 Wednesday through Friday at 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

“This event is another great example of the partnerships FDOH-Gadsden has developed in our community. Our faith-based community has always been a champion for the health department, and we continue to see this support even in our response to COVID-19. I personally thank The Excellence Church and Pastor Taylor for partnering with us to offer COVID-19 testing for the residents of Midway,” stated FDOH-Gadsden Health Officer Dr. Adrian Cooksey. Pastor Taylor stated, “Considering the current trends that we’re seeing in Gadsden County, coupled with our students and teachers preparing to return to school, it’s important that we all know our status prior to the start of school. On behalf of The Excellence Church, we are very excited to be of service to Gadsden and the surrounding counties as we continue to work to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

Residents are reminded that they are required to remain in their vehicles, have a photo ID, and wear a face mask/covering during their visit.

COVID-19 test results are now available via the online patient portal, with a turnaround time of approximately 48 hours.

Information regarding the patient portal will be provided to residents the day of testing.
