(WTXL) — Farm Share is continuing to help communities around the Big Bend during the pandemic by hosting six free drive-thru food distribution events.
Throughout the month of June, Farm Share is partnering with multiple organizations, including Grand Order of Archangels, Living Stones International, Madison County, and Franklin’s County Coalition, to feed thousands of local families in need.
Organizers say the distributions are drive-thru only to minimize contact and ensure the safety of all parties.
To obtain food, attendees must arrive in a vehicle with their windows up and their trunks open.
All recipients must also have a nose/mouth covering. Food is provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Individuals in attendance should expect to receive the following items:
- Fresh produce
- Proteins
- Non-perishable goods
- Water
Those looking to support can make donations via FarmShare.org or by texting “EAT” to 41-444.
