TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — For the first time in 10 years, the Florida A&M University football team finds itself back in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) polls on Monday.
The Rattlers, who are coming off an emotional 34-31 overtime win over previously ranked No. 10 North Carolina A&T State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) game on Sunday afternoon at Bragg Memorial Stadium, finished the 2009 season ranked No. 23 in the STATS FCS Top 25.
On Monday, Florida A&M entered the STATS FCS Top 25 ranked No. 20 as North Carolina A&T State fell eight spots to No. 18. The Rattlers also entered the FCS Coaches Poll and is now ranked No. 23.
FAMU currently holds the top spot in the SBN Black College Football Poll after dethroning the Black College Football National Champions in overtime. In the BOXTOROW Coaches Poll, the Rattlers moved from No. 4 to No. 1.
Florida A&M returns to action on Saturday as the Rattlers visit Morgan State at Hughes Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. in Baltimore, Md. and the game can be streamed live on ESPN3.
