FAMU PD sends out alert after "shots fired" near campus

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Authorities have sent out a mass alert after police say shots were fired around the Jakes and Patterson Street area.

The shooting happened around 12:40 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the alert sent about an hour later, authorities say there are two suspects who were both last seen going southbound on MLK Street.

Both are African-American men around their 20s with medium length dreadlocks.

They say one of them is wearing a black long-sleeve shirt. There is no known clothing description of the other suspect.
