TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Florida A&M University's head football coach Willie Simmons, shared a heartfelt public service announcement on his twitter about donating to the youth on Giving Tuesday.

In the twitter post addressing Rattler Nation, Simmons explained that "his heart was heavy" on this day of giving after spending the weekend talking to some local youth.

On Saturday, Simmons spoke with youth in the community about the challenges they face, "which is leading to a lot of this gun violence," he stated.

Simmons went on to say that he is "asking instead of giving to the athletic program, you give to a cause to support the youth of this community."

Simmons also stated that the donations would go towards a "cookout, block party, or something for them to do where we can all come together in unity."

For more information or if you would like to donate, contact Coach Simmons on his twitter page.
