TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Friday is the last day of Teacher Appreciation Week.
FAMU Developmental Research School handed out lunches and thank you bags to teachers and other staff.
Micheal Johnson is finishing his first year as superintendent for FAMU DRS but has been in education for more than 25 years.
He says while it is Teacher Appreciation Week, the school also wanted to show appreciation to other staff members, like cafeteria workers.
"We are honoring not just our teachers, but we're honoring our whole staff at FAMU DRS," said Johnson. "From our ladies who have been doing a wonderful job with our breakfast and lunch every day since we've been out day one, to our security, to teachers. So we're just trying to honor everyone and just say thank you."
The school had 93 bags to show appreciation along with lunch from Moe's.
