TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — We're following two stories out of Tallahassee.

A big tourism announcement and the city picking a new ethics officer.

The ethics board has selected A. Keith Powell to be the next Ethics Officer, replacing current officer Julie Meadows-Keefe.

Of the three top candidates, Powell received five of the seven possible votes.

He will receive a salary of $90,000. Which is actually $10,000 less than what Keefe currently makes.

Attorney Ruby Barr says the bar is set high for the next ethics officer.

"We do take very very seriously, what it is that is going on because the citizens of Tallahassee deserve that and they deserve to have the best when it comes to transparency morals, values," said Barr.

If all goes according to plan Powell would start sometime in February.

We're also at Visit Tallahassee’s event waiting for a big announcement about the success of Tourism in the Capital City.

Organizers say the announcement is pretty unexpected. We will give you the details at 11.
