TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — As new details unfold about what happened at Dyke Industries so do the stories of those who work there.

The first thought that entered Scottie Washington's mind after hearing screams in Dyke Industries, was fear.

Washington said he arrived to work Wednesday just like any other day, then about 25 minutes later he heard screams of his co-workers. He says his first immediate thought was that it wasn't real, but as soon as he heard more screams, he and other employees ran from the building as quickly as they could.

"It happened so fast. He stabbed the first guy and that's when we like took off running to the side door and I hid behind a trashcan," said Washington. "It was just so nerve-wracking, you didn't know if you were going to lose your life or not."

Washington says he had lunch with Antwann Brown two days ago and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Washington says he and other employees will return to work and resume normal operations on Monday.
